In January 2021, the Renewable Energy State Association (LEE RLP/SL) which is responsible for the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland was founded. In the future, this association will bundle the interests of renewable energies and represent them to the state governments in Mainz and Saarbrücken. As a founding member for the solar sector, PFALZSOLAR provides a representative on the executive board in the person of Dominic Lauer, Head of Private and Business Customers at PFALZSOLAR. In total, the association consists of 20 members from the areas of biogas, solar, water, wind, hydrogen, local heating and municipal energy supply, civic energy, business and research. The focus of the cooperation is the expansion of a CO2-free power and heat supply, if possible by 2030, but at the latest by 2040.

Anne Spiegel, Minister of State for Environment and Energy of Rhineland-Palatinate, sees the great potential of renewable energy at the online founding meeting: “More than every second kilowatt hour of electricity generated in Rhineland-Palatinate already comes from renewable energies. Our goal is clear: By 2030, we want to generate all of our electricity from wind, sun, biomass and water. To achieve this, we need to double the amount of wind energy and triple the amount of solar energy. With our solar offensive, we are strengthening the expansion of photovoltaics and promoting, for example, the purchase of PV storage systems for citizens, municipalities and companies.”

An investment in photovoltaics is an investment in the future – for our earth, our children and all future generations. By using solar energy, PFALZSOLAR sustainably increase people’s quality of life and already save several thousand tons of CO² per year.

“With the founding of the state association, we are taking another decisive step towards the energy turnaround. PFALZSOLAR is rooted in the region, so we are particularly proud to support this joint project and climate protection directly at the local level. I am convinced that this alliance will create the necessary framework conditions and further advance the great common goal of the ‘energy turnaround’,” says Dominic Lauer.
